6:30 p.m. Flag Retirement Ceremony

In honor of Patriot Day the City of Cooper City invites everyone to a Community Flag Retirement Ceremony and Scouting Event at the Cooper City Community Center on Friday, September 11, 2015.  From 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. local Girl Scouts and Boy Scout troops and leaders will be onsite to recruit prospective scouts and provide youth activities.  A respectful Community Flag Retirement Ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m. sharp.  Those attending the flag ceremony are advised to arrive by 6:15 p.m.  This is a complimentary event.  Refreshments will be served.  Tattered/torn American Flags will be collected on site for future retirement.  For additional information contact the Cooper City Recreation Department at 954.434.4300, #233.

A celebration honoring “Grandparent’s Day” at the Cooper City Pool & Tennis Center.  Come enjoy an afternoon with your grandchild.  Fun, games, crafts, and snacks provided followed by an old fashioned ice cream party. Bring your bathing suits and enjoy the pool and game room after the event at no additional charge.

WHO:            Grandparent & Grandchild ages 4 & up, either of whom are Cooper City residents (proof required).

The Community Center hosts the Tuesday, September 1st registration process at 6:30 p.m.  The lottery drawing will follow at 6:40 p.m.  This twice a year event is only open to Cooper City residents and identification is required to reserve a space.  The space costs $20.00 plus tax and is limited to one per household.  No professional vendors.
